The Russo Family of Brands
When Russo Power Equipment celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2020, they developed a slogan: “Celebrating 50 Years of Business & The Next 50”.
Whether through acquisitions or new store introductions, Russo has stayed true to their identity and promptly delivered on their promise of growth in the "Next 50" with regional expansion. Some of the acquired companies will continue to operate under the same names that communities have trusted for decades.
As members of the Russo family, all these businesses share the same core mission: Powering Nature’s Professionals!
ABOUT PORTER'S LAWN & POWER EQUIPMENT: Founded in 1951, Porter’s Lawn & Power Equipment has been a family-owned staple in the Janesville, WI community. Jim, who took over from his father, along with his wife Sandy have built the business into the loyal, community-based dealership it is today. Specializing in Toro branded equipment for residential and landscape contractors, Porter’s will continue to serve lawn maintenance enthusiasts. Learn More
ABOUT HALTOM EQUIPMENT INC.: Founded in 1979, by the Haltom family in Mooresville, IN, Haltom Equipment has been providing quality lawn and garden equipment, parts, and service since the beginning. As the needs of the business shifted and the Benko family took over the company, there was a shift to move from a one brand dealer to a multi-brand dealership in 2010. Now carrying top brands like Toro, Exmark, Wright, STIHL, Bad Boy, Ferris, and Kioti, Haltom is ready for the next chapter with Russo. Learn More
In the late 1990s, Midway moved from its original location to Hiawatha, where it continues to serve Eastern Iowa with dependable service and top-tier equipment. Still run by the Schutzman family, the team has built a reputation for quality and trust that spans generations.
In 2025, that tradition continues under a new name: Russo Outdoor Power Plus.
As part of this rebranding, customers can expect the same familiar staff, the same commitment to service, and the same dedication to both professional landscapers and landowners. Now, with access to Russo’s expanded inventory, enhanced resources, and industry-leading support, Midway enters an exciting new chapter—without losing the roots that made it a local favorite.
This acquisition marks Russo’s first Outdoor Power Plus location in Iowa—and we’re proud to grow alongside a community built on hard work and hometown values.
